Over 20 years or so ago, Butchart Gardens in beautiful Victoria B.C. wanted to add some live music for patrons as they strolled through the light displays during their holiday season. A brass group was hired to play ‘festive’ music toggling with a group of traditional carollers.

Throughout the years, the brass became extremely popular as we combined top-notch musicianship with quirky arrangements of well-loved holiday classics, and some additional cheeky humour interacting with our audiences.

With a library approaching two hundred arrangements, almost all of which have been written by the members of the group, we playfully boast the ability to play almost any Christmas tune upon request, and we may even tell you: "If we don't know it, we'll fake it."

One year we just simply decided to take the show ‘on the road’ which led us to our current stellar group primed for all concert venues.

The Festive Brass performs as a quartet, quintet, sextet and a large 12 piece brass and percussion ensemble!
